Seed Potatoes – Canada

NOTICE JANUARY 2022: Due to the government of Canada’s ban Prince Edward Island’s seed potatoes, gardeners may find it difficult to source seed potatoes in the spring of 2022. Below is a list of Canadian companies who post seed potatoes for sale on their website. Only their name is here. Look under Canadian See Companies to learn more about the company and get the link. Annapolis Seed: Located in Nova Scotia. From their website: We are growers and stewards of heirloom and open pollinated seed. Our goal is to cultivate the greatest possible diversity of seeds for our region. Our collection acts as a living seed bank for the Maritimes and Eastern Canada.”

Cochrane Farms: Located in Upper Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, this is a certified organic producer that sells vegetable, flower and herb seeds.

Greta’s Family Garden: Located in Quebec. From their website: As a naturally grown seed company based in Quebec. Greta’s Family Gardens assists customers in cultivating unique and high quality gardens and plants. We provide naturally grown gardening seeds that flourish into plants and vegetables with enhanced taste and colourful appearance. 

Heritage Harvest Seed: They specialize in rare and endangered heirloom/heritage varieties of vegetables, flowers and herbs. With over 800 varieties to choose from, we’ll surely have something to suit your taste.

Hope Seed: Located in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. From their website: “Hope Seeds is a small but committed seed company, with a dedication to local and sustainable agriculture since our beginning in 1994. This little but growing company officially became a co-operatively owned business in December 2015.”

McKenzie Seed: Located in Canada. One of the oldest seed companies in the country.

Prairie Garden Seed: Located in Saskatchewan.

Ragged Robin Farm and Nursery: Located in Port Royal, Nova Scotia. From their website: “We are the Heembrock Family, 3 generations, located in Port Royal, Nova Scotia. With more than 30 years in both the horticulture and culinary industries, we are excited to share our journey with you as we grow our farm and nursery.  We are committed to producing high quality edibles and ornamentals for local markets.”

Revival Seeds: Located in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. “Revival Seeds is a family farm and business located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada that offers organically grown and open-pollinated vegetables, herbs, and flower varieties. We will also have our specialty garlic and Jerusalem artichoke available following the harvest season.”

Salt Spring Seeds: Located on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. “Dedicated to a safe and sustainable agriculture.”

Seeds of Imbolc: Located in Fergus, Ontario.

Sunshine Farm: A certified organic farm located in British Columbia

T&T Seeds: Located in Headingley, Manitoba. From their website: “T&T Seeds has specialized in early season garden seed and nursery stock for the home gardener and market gardener since its inception (1946).”

Veseys Seed: A wide variety of seeds, bulbs and starter plants. Located in Prince Edward Island.

West Coast Seeds: Located in Vancouver, BC. From their website: “West Coast Seeds was founded in 1983 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our purpose is to source and supply seeds of a higher quality than have been available to home gardeners. Following the traditions of organic farming and gardening, untreated and certified organic seeds are our focus. Whiffletree Farm and Nursery: Located in Ontario. Sells all sorts of fruit trees, berries and such.

Wildwood Outdoor Living Centre: Located in Victoria, BC. From their website: “First opening our doors in 1979 as Cannor Nursery, we’ve been serving the Greater Victoria area for 40+ years. We’ve always been passionate about plants.”

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds: Located in Missouri. Eden Brothers Seeds: Located in North Carolina. From their website: “ is an online retailer that offers one of the largest seed and flower bulb assortments available in the United States. Siskiyou Seeds: Located in Oregon. Strictly Medicinal Seeds: Located in Oregon. From their website: “We’re Strictly Medicinal, located in the town of Williams in Southern Oregon.
